en-USINSTRUCTIONSen-USAPPLICATION FOR BANQUET LICENSEen-USPRIVACY STATEMENT. en-USSocial security numbers, dates of birth, and federal and state tax identi037cation numbers are en-US en-UScollected for identi037cation purposes. The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Authority considers all personal/tax en-US en-USinformation collected as con037dential information and will not provide information to any entity except as authorized by en-US en-USthe Code of Virginia 24758.1-3 or 2.2-3700 through 2.2-3714.en-USNote: en-USIf all of the following en-USfouren-US criteria are met, then no license is needed (unless required by locality or facility): en-US(1)en-US the event is en-USprivateen-US (i.e., not en-US en-USopen to the public and not in a public place); en-US(2) en-USmoney is en-USnoten-US exchanged for alcohol or otherwise; en-US(3) en-USthe event is en-USnot en-USheld on a club or unlicensed en-USrestaurant premises; and en-US(4)en-US alcohol purchased for the event isen-US not en-USfrom a wholesaler/distributor. In all other cases, a license is needed and is en-USbound by the information presented below. Contact your local ABC of037ce with any questions (see pg. 2). 1. þ en-USRead theen-US Guidelines and Responsibilities en-USof Applicant (this page). 2. þ en-USSelect the appropriate en-USLicense Typeen-US on page 3-4. License type will en-US en-USdesignate which sections you must complete and applicable fees. 3. þ en-USComplete the appropriate sections for the license type selected. 4. þ en-USLocate the city/county where the event will be held (pg. 2) and en-US en-USdetermine the responsible ABC Regional Of037ce. Mail or deliver the en-USitems in the checklist below to that of037ce:en-USen-US Completed and signed application (pgs. 32268).en-USen-US Appropriate license fees (see 223License Fees224 column, pg. 3-4), en-US payable to 223VA ABC224 (see guideline 8 for payment restrictions).en-USen-US en-USRequired documents (from individual sections of application) 5. þ en-USUpon receipt of the application, an ABC special agent or administrative en-UStechnician will be assigned and will contact you as needed during en-UShis/her investigation. 6. þ en-USA nonrefundable application processing fee is included in the en-US223single-day rate224 for each type of license. If the license is refused, en-USapplication withdrawn or event cancelled, only the state license fee en-USis refunded (see 223License Fees224 column, pg. 3-4). 7. þ en-USApproved licenses, with time permitting, will be mailed to the en-US en-USaddress provided by the applicant. If requested, arrangements can en-US en-USbe made to pick up the license at your local ABC Of037ce. 8. þ en-USKeep pages 1 and 2 for your reference.en-USGUIDELINES 1. þ en-USPlease submit your application and all attachments (in English) en-USat en-USleast 10 business days prior to the event dateen-US to ensure adequate en-US en-USprocessing time. If not received in suf037cient time to complete an en-USinvestigation, the application may be considered withdrawn. 2. þ en-USApplicant must (a) be at least 21 years of age and (b) be able to read, en-USwrite, speak and understand English. 3. þ en-USIn accordance with 2474.1-222(1)(o), a police of037cer with police en-US en-USauthority in the political subdivision within which the event will take en-USplace may not be granted a license. 4. þ en-USThe person completing the application for a Special Event license en-USas de037ned above must be associated with the nonpro037t applicant en-USidenti037ed in section 4. 5. þ en-USA social security number is required on en-USall en-USapplications. Refer to en-USprivacy statement above regarding personal/tax information. 6. þ en-USThe name of the applicant in section 1 must be the same as the en-US en-USperson signing the application in section 7. 7. þ en-USAll applications are required to have an event date and physical en-USaddress (to include street number and name, city and zip code) in en-USsection 2 before they will be accepted. 8. þ en-USAny checks or money orders submitted for payment en-USmusten-US be in the en-USname of the applicant identi037ed in section 1 or the group identi037ed en-US en-USin sections 3 or 4. Cash is only accepted in person. 9. þ en-USAny refunds will be made to the applicant and home address en-US en-USidenti037ed in section 1, unless ABC is noti037ed otherwise. 10. þ en-USApplication for a banquet license does not guarantee approval. 11. þ en-USInvestigation of the application may not begin until en-USall en-USrequired en-US en-USdocuments have been received. en-USNot providing required documents en-US en-USis the primary cause of delay in the licensing process. 12. þ en-USApproved banquet licenses are for on-premises consumption only en-USwith the exception of those speci037cally allowing the off-premises en-USsale of wine. 13. þ en-USFalsi037cation and/or misrepresentation of information may result en-US en-USin refusal of license and/or criminal charges.en-US805-4 (rev. 07/2018). This is an of037cial state document and all information contained or submitted therein is public information. en-USRefer to Privacy Statement on page 1 regarding personal/tax information. en-USBanquet License Application | 1 Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority en-US.en-US www.abc.virginia.en-USgov en-US.en-US 2901 Hermitage Road en-US.en-US Richmond, VA 23220 en-US.en-US (800) 552-3200 en-USRESPONSIBILITIES OF APPLICANTen-USAll applicants who are granted a banquet license by the Virginia Alcoholic en-USBeverage Control Board must adhere to the following: 1. þ en-USNo alcoholic beverages may be sold, given to or consumed by any en-USperson in attendance at your banquet whom you know or have reason en-USto believe is intoxicated*. 2. þ en-USNo person whom you know or have reason to believe is intoxicated* en-USmay loiter upon the licensed area. 3. þ en-USNo alcoholic beverage may be sold, given to, or consumed by any en-USperson in attendance at the banquet whom you know or have reason en-US en-USto believe is less than 21. 4. þ en-USThe banquet licensee must be present during the event. 5. þ en-USThe banquet licensee may not be intoxicated* or under the in036uence en-US en-USof a self-administered drug during the event. 6. þ en-USFor a restricted banquet license, no alcoholic beverage may be sold en-US en-USor given away on the licensed area beyond approved hours. 7. þ en-USNo one less than 18 years of age may sell, serve or dispense beer. 8. þ en-USDistilled spirits under a Mixed Beverage Special Event license must en-US en-USbe purchased from a Virginia ABC store. 9. þ en-USIf wine and/or beer are purchased from a wholesaler, they must be en-USpurchased on the day of the banquet. (For Saturday or Sunday events, en-US en-USpurchases may be made on the preceding Friday.) 10. þ en-USAlcoholic beverages must be con037ned to the building, room or general en-USarea for which the license is issued and may not be sold, given away en-US en-USor consumed in any location outside of the licensed area. en-US(Note: en-US en-USViolation may result in arrest for drinking in public.) 11. þ en-USAll alcoholic beverages are strictly for on-premises sale and/or en-USconsumption at the address of the event with the exception of events en-USspeci037cally allowing the off-premises sale of wine for fundraising en-USpurposes.en-US* A person may be deemed intoxicated when it is apparent from en-US en-USobservation that he/she has drunk enough alcoholic beverages to affect en-UShis/her manner, disposition, speech, muscular movements, general en-US en-USappearance or behavior.
