VN273 - REQUEST FOR SERVICE BY CERTIFIED MAIL/RETURN RECEIPT SMALL CLAIMS. This form is used in small claims cases in the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura. It allows a plaintiff or defendant to request that the court serve a claim on the opposing party using certified mail with a return receipt, as permitted by California Code of Civil Procedure § 116.340(a)(1). The requesting party must provide the name and address of the party to be served, and if applicable, an agent for service of process.
