Petitioners understand that even if the Court waives the Post-Placement Assessment, the background study and fingerprint check must still be completed. In lieu of a Post-Placement Assessment Report, attached is Petitioners' Stepparent Affidavit Checklist. In the alternative, if the Court declines to waive the Post-Placement Assessment and Report, Petitioners request that the Court direct that the (name of county where adoption is taking place) County Adoption Unit conduct the same type of PostPlacement Assessment, at the same cost to Petitioners, as is conducted when a stepparent seeks to adopt a child and the marriage is of less than one year's duration.
