UCCJEA FORM 6 - REQUEST AND NOTICE OF HEARING TO CONTEST REGISTRATION OF CHILD CUSTODY DETERMINATION REGISTRATION UNDER THE UNIFORM CHILD CUSTODY JURISDICTION AND ENFORCEMENT ACT. Thsi form is used by a respondent, or a person acting as a parent who has been awarded custody or parenting time, to request a hearing in order to contest the registration of a child custody determination that has been registered under the UCCJEA in Michigan. The respondent may contest the validity of the registered determination based on specific defenses, such as the lack of jurisdiction by the issuing court, the modification, vacation, or stay of the child custody determination by a court with appropriate jurisdiction, or improper notice of the proceedings that led to the custody determination. The form requires the respondent to list the children involved, provide relevant defenses, and submit any supporting documents. The court clerk is responsible for mailing the notice of the hearing to all parties involved, and the hearing will be scheduled before a judge to address the validity of the custody determination registration.
