QME form 31.7 - ADDITIONAL PANEL REQUEST-8 CAL. CODE OF REGULATIONS SECTION 31.7. This is form used in the state of California in workers' compensation cases when a party requests an additional Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) panel from the Medical Unit of the California Division of Workers' Compensation. Under California law, a party can request a QME evaluation when there is a dispute regarding an injured worker's medical condition or the extent of their injury. After the request is made, the Medical Unit of the Division of Workers' Compensation provides a panel of QMEs to the parties involved in the dispute. If a party disputes the qualifications of the QMEs on the panel, they may request an additional panel by filing QME Form 31.7 with the Medical Unit.
