Description

AFFIDAVIT FOR COMMITTEE: ELECTRONIC FILING EXEMPTION. This form is used by the campaign treasurer of a political committee in Texas to claim an exemption from the requirement to file campaign finance reports electronically. Starting January 1, 2024, if a political committee accepts more than $32,810 in political contributions or makes more than $32,810 in political expenditures in a calendar year, it must file all subsequent campaign finance reports electronically. However, if the committee has not exceeded this threshold and does not use computer equipment to track contributions and expenditures, the campaign treasurer can submit this affidavit to claim an exemption from electronic filing. The affidavit must be submitted with each paper campaign finance report for which the exemption is claimed. It requires the campaign treasurer to swear or affirm that the committee meets the exemption criteria. The affidavit can be signed either before a notary public or via an unsworn declaration. This form ensures that those claiming an exemption continue to file reports on paper, while those exceeding the threshold are required to file electronically. www.FormsWorkflow.com
