LACIV 131, COMMISSION. This form is used by the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles to authorize the deposition of a witness who is located outside of California, but within the United States, its territories, or insular possessions. The purpose of the commission is to allow the oral examination of a witness to be conducted outside of California, but still under the jurisdiction of the California court, while ensuring that the deponent will be required to attend and comply with the obligations to produce documents and answer questions.
